lots of anglers change there boilies/baits to a totally different flavour altogether than what they use in the summer, other anglers seem to get on a "winterised" version of the bait they have been using all year.

So if carp do slow down in the winter and they do as anglers say "eat anything" then why change your bait ?

Is the meaning "winterised" a meaning used by the bait companies to sell bait for the angler that goes in the colder months or DOES a " ...

Do you or have you ever used plastic baits when carp fishing ? If so what do you think of them ? I must admit I've never been a big fan of plastic baits until the summer of 2007.

I was fishing at Crane Hall and to be honest with you I was fast running out of bolies. I had loads of mix left and I really did not want to go home and start rolling. So out popped the plastics.

Now a friend of mine, Adam had shown me a rig a while back that he had been working on so I had decided to use ...

Well for those who don't they were the daddy of rolling tables but faded out several years ago and we got stuck with the plastic Gardner ones. They did the job but lets be honest here, they are not all that good.

Anyway today I thought I'd try and find one for sale as I'm in dier need of a new rolling table(s). Popped Shilham into Google and bob's ya uncle, Shilham is back !

Not long ago I was with a few friends on the bank up at Crane Hall Fisheries and we were talking about all of the different baits available on the market to the average carp fisherman. It's mind blowing how many there actually are when you think about it

We argued the toss for a while but one thing really caught my attention. It was mainly the smell of the bait that people were discussing not what was actually in it. This started me thinking. Do manufacturers release baits that are there ...

I've been thinking about this for a long time and I'm still not 100% sure on my thoughts. Simple question really. Does bait colour make any difference at all ?

At first I thought well maybe then I got onto think actually probably not. Several years ago I was using a black bait up at Highfield Fisheries (before it was turned into a match water) The water was chocolate colour so the fish were bound to be using their other senses more than sight alown.

Pour on a little boiling water and stir until disolved. Then just put some mixers into a pot, pour over the mix and shake well. Leave overnight and your mixers will be all nutty and sweet the following morning
