Wyreside fishery

Post by bobthetrain on Mon Jul 19, 2010 6:47 pm

Evening all. My first post on here having only recently got bitten by the carping bug!
I'm after advice and opinions on Wyreside fishery ('Little Wyre', I'm told). I did my first overnighter on Sunny 1 at Wyreside Lakes Fishery a few weeks ago (blanked - except for a tench - but so did most. There was only 1 carp caught on the lake in the 24hrs I was there), and was looking for the website to check the lake stats when I came across the site for 'Little Wyre'. Which one would you lads recommend? I've done quite a few day sessions on my clubs waters, and caught loads of carp around 7-12lb, so I'm not too bothered about it being a runs water. I'm prepared to wait for a bite to get a good fish (high double - a twenty would be a dream) but don't want to fish for a week chasing a 30 and blank!
All advice on rigs, baits, pegs etc on either venue (or any others you'd recommend) would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, bobthetrain.

Don't really know much or hear much about little wryeside. But big wryeside, recommend all the lakes on the complex. The bait that tends to work on all the lakes are the cell and scopex squid + robin red. Sunnyside 2 is easier than Sunnyside 1 and the fish in Sunnyside average abit lower, but there are plenty of 20s and 30s to be had and come out often. Drunk

Another venue, if you just want to catch fish, its abit small for my liking crane hall, is stuffed full of fish and never heard of people really blanking on the place.
